Front Page and Product Categories Updated
July 2, 2010
For the second day in a row, the GOAT Store announced major changes with the GOAT Store web site, this time with the introduction of a new front page and retitling of the product categories that the store carries.
The front page starts with a large graphic that can be made to either focus on something currently being promoted or announced -- currently, it notes the store-wide price drop that was announced yesterday -- or it can focus on a certain systems or products to better introduce customers to what the GOAT Store is about.
Beside that, there is room for two additional banners, including a monthly deals banner. This monthly deals banner will give customers a special deal each month, ranging from a discount on a certain game to store-wide discounts! Currently, the discount is 10% off all loose Intellivision titles.
Also featured on the main page is news, recently added products and deals under $5.00.
Another change that the GOAT Store site received was a relabeling of all of the product categories to more accurately reflect what region of the world the games are from.
"Overseas customers make up a high percentage of our orders," stated Gary Heil, co-owner of the GOAT Store, LLC. "We wanted to ensure that it was very clear to both them and everyone exactly what region of the world each game came from. Before, we would just label things as 'import' and that was confusing for many people to know if that was a European or Japanese import, and often you had to click on the game's name to see if we had any import versions. With our new category system, it will be clear to everyone ordering exactly what you will be receiving with your order."
Dan Loosen, the other co-owner of the GOAT Store, LLC added, "It is important to note that this does not signal a change in focus, as our goal remains to service gamers and collectors with great priced titles. It does mean however, that on systems like the Virtual Boy, Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast which many collectors worldwide enjoy games from all regions, we will be better able to serve those collectors!"
Many more changes are planned for the GOAT Store site in the month of July, as the site undergoes a huge upgrade to better serve collectors and gamers worldwide!
