JMD is 30 years old and lives in Toulouse, France working as a computer engineer. After getting his first computer in 1985, he become very interested programming and began developing his skills on the Amstrad CPC and the Amiga. Through time, JMD began coding for other platforms, including programs for Windows-based systems.
In 2001, JMD received a Dreamcast and fell in love with if. After a few months of playing, he learned how to program. Maqiupai was started in April 2003 and was submitted to the DreamON Contest one year later.
Other than programming, JMD also enjoys reading books written by Tolkien, Asimov and Pratchett, Babylon 5 and movies starring J. Carpenter, L. Nielsen and B. Poolvord. He also enjoys playing football (or "soccer" in the US) and skiing. His favorite videos games are Pirates!, Gauntlet and Heroes of Might & Magic.
Maqiupai and Inhabitants are the second and third games that GOAT Store Publishing has released. After the 2001 release Feet of Fury, GOAT Store Publishing extended their support of the Dreamcast community further and offered to produce the winning titles for the DreamON Contest – A contest to create the best ready-to-produce Dreamcast game. After receiving a group of very solid entries, Maqiupai and Inhabitants were declared the winners.
Initially, the games were set to be released on May 22, 2004 at the Midwest Gaming Classic, but a problem at the pressing factory caused the games to arrive non-functioning. On January 19, 2005, after finally locating the problem, finding a new pressing company and ironing out all of the details with the pressing, Maqiupai and Inhabitants are available for purchase for Dreamcast fans everywhere!
GOAT Store Publishing has many more Dreamcast projects that they hope to continue to publish in the future!
